External Load

We lift what can’t reach the site any other way. Raven Aircraft holds an FAA Part 133 Rotorcraft External-Load Certificate and flies Class B operations — loads carried on a long line or cargo hook, placed exactly where you need them.

What we lift

Concrete forms, rebar and construction materials. Rooftop HVAC units and mechanical equipment. Utility poles, tower sections and line-work materials. Trees, logs and brush from tight or sensitive sites. Camp, survey and remote-site supply. Water bucket work in support of fire and land-management agencies.

How a lift works

Every job starts with a site look and a lift plan: load weights, rigging, pick and set points, approach and departure paths, ground-crew positions and communications. When a lift is over a congested area we prepare the required Congested Area Plan and coordinate with the FAA before flight day. On the day, we brief the ground crew, verify the rigging, and fly the plan.

Capabilities

Aircraft: Robinson R44 Raven I, with the Robinson R66 available for heavier or higher-altitude work. Line lengths up to 150 ft, remote and belly hook. Bambi bucket available. Operating area: Washington and Oregon; farther by arrangement.

Hazardous materials

Raven Aircraft holds FAA will-carry authorization for hazardous materials. Fuel, batteries, compressed gas and similar materials that a job site needs can go by air when they are properly packaged, marked and declared. Ask before you assume it can’t fly — we’ll tell you what’s required.
